Why LifeWishGuardian exists

LifeWishGuardian was created by Richard, a nurse practitioner (NP) based in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina (Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill) with a background in critical care. Working in and alongside some of the region's large medical centers and academic teaching hospitals, he has sat with many patients and families at some of the hardest moments of their lives, helping them talk through what kind of care they would want if they became seriously ill.
Again and again he saw the same thing. When a person's wishes weren't clearly known, families were left guessing, and loved ones sometimes ended up disagreeing with each other at the very moment they most needed to pull together. When wishes were talked about and written down ahead of time, families could focus on being present instead of arguing about what Mom or Dad would have wanted.
That's why Richard has been passionate about end-of-life conversations and advance care planning for years. LifeWishGuardian puts that experience into a simple app, so anyone can record their wishes in their own words and share them with the people who matter.
